Funds donated to Wateree Community Action, Inc. will assist Palmetto customers in need of assistance to pay sewer bills.
Palmetto Utilities, Inc. (“Palmetto”) announces that it will donate $150,000 to Wateree Community Actions, Inc., for the purpose of assisting its customers with sewer bills.
Palmetto has committed to an annual contribution of $50,000 for a period of three (3) years to Wateree Community Action, Inc. for the exclusive purpose of assisting Palmetto’s customers who are currently in economic distress with paying their monthly sewer service bills to Palmetto. A check for the first $50,000 was presented to Wateree Community Action, Inc. Chief Executive Officer, Annette Tucker, on September 10th.
“We, the Wateree Community Action Agency, would like to thank Palmetto Utilities for the initial $50,000 donation. We are looking forward to building a long-term working relationship to helping people, changing lives in the Richland and Kershaw County communities”, said Tucker.
Palmetto Utilities’ President, Mark Daday, commented “We are pleased to be working with Wateree Community Action Agency to help our customers during this difficult time. Palmetto Utilities’ initial three- year commitment will be targeted to those most in need.”
